We focus on areas that have been and often still are \"outside the mainstream,\" resulting in insufficiently developed and limited diagnostic and therapeutic services for clients. We have the background of a number of top experts and we cooperate with professional Czech and foreign organisations and universities. Our experience draws on evidence-based practices and we bring innovative and effective methodologies from abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our organization was founded in 1991 by Prof. MUDr. Hana Pape\u017eov\u00e1, CSc., with the goal of supporting and treating individuals with eating disorders (ED) and their families, as well as educating professionals, who are still in short supply in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For over 10 years, we have also been addressing other conditions often associated with ED, such as depression, anxiety, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adulthood. For all those with ADHD in adulthood, we have developed a comprehensive program, the only one of its kind in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For many years, we have also been researching ways to prevent ED. Research indicates that aside from specific prevention and early intervention for at-risk adolescents, it is effective to enhance psychosocial skills in children even before issues arise. By teaching children how to better cope with challenging situations, resolve conflicts, build self-confidence, refrain from self-judgment, manage negative emotions, and seek help when needed, we assist them in better dealing with mental problems during adolescence and adulthood. In 2015, along with our partners, we introduced globally recognized evaluated programs, Zippy\u2018s and Apple\u2018s Friends to enhance children's social and coping skills, increasing their well-being and academic achievement. Through these programs, we have trained over 500 school professionals and positively impacted more than 10,000 children in the Czech Republic.
